The Chungs knew that they wanted lush greenery and possibly an escape from the rain, so there was no place more perfect than the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle for their wedding anniversary session.
The Volunteer Park Conservatory, located on the north end of the expansive park, is one of the most romantic spots in all of Seattle! With victorian style greenhouse architecture, this landmark has been a part of the neighborhood since 1912. Every section of the greenhouse has a different botanical theme and my personal favorites were the rooms displaying large tropical plants or anything with unique colorful flowers that you don't typically see around Seattle. Not to mention this conservatory is also home to a few birds - the ones who were sneaky enough to fly through some of the open windows - which I didn't find out about until this anniversary session!
I have been visiting this park every year, multiple times a year, for summer picnics with friends, daytime adventure dates with my partner, and anytime I've wondered what the heck to do on a rainy day?! - The answer is always visiting the conservatory.
While during the day it is open to the public, you can actually have a private tour of the garden and reserve it for intimate wedding celebrations after-hours! And YES it's an incredibly easy and affordable rental process.
It was also important to the couple to document some of their sentimental tokens from their engagement and wedding! The Chungs brought along a little box filled with love notes to each other and their official wedding date, surrounded by dried flowers from their legal wedding the previous year. For many of my couples, like these two, they had to make the tough decision to postpone their celebration and reception due to the Covid pandemic, so having the opportunity to celebrate all they've accomplished and reminisce on their first year as a married couple was truly unforgettable.
We ended the day popping some champagne and throwing some biodegradable floral confetti in a final hurrah!
